Hello little Cafe Rio fans. As you may know, Cafe Rio is very involved in the local schools surrounding each restaurant. Along with countless donations, we've set up a "Student-of-the-Week" program where we give away free meals to students and teachers. In an effort to promote this program in our new markets, we recently had a Teacher Appreciation Week (August 19th-September4th) at some of our newer restaurants. For an entire week, we gave you guys free meals with a teacher's ID! And oh yes, we've got pictures.

After celebrating the teachers, we decided to celebrate the hard work and dedication of the Military. From September 5th-September 11th, we gave away free meals to all military personnel and veterans. Along with the free meals, we also accepted donations towards the Hope for the Warriors foundation.

Ending the week on September 11th allowed us all to reflect on how changed our country is since the two towers went down 10 years ago. Politics aside, we'd like to thank the troops for fighting for our country. None of us will truly understand the pain and danger we've put you in, but we do appreciate you from the bottom of our hearts.
