Cafe Rio Mexican Grill to Host and Donate Proceeds from Free Day in Logan, Utah
CAFE RIO MEXICAN GRILL TO HOST FREE DAY ALL DONATIONS BENEFIT LOGAN CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
LOGAN, December 6, 2011 -- Cafe Rio Mexican Grill, one of the best restaurants in Logan, UT, will show its appreciation for the Cache Valley community by holding a special fundraising event for local schools Tuesday, December 6.
From 10:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m., all meals will be free and customers will be encouraged to donate the money they would have spent on their meal to a local public school of their choice. The entirety of the proceeds from the free meal day will be given to these schools. Five schools from Logan School District have agreed to participate and compete for donations. They are: Adams Elementary School, Hillcrest Elementary School, Mt. Logan Middle School, Wilson Elementary School and Woodruff Elementary School.
In addition to the money earned from donations, as one of the leading quick-service restaurants in Logan, UT, Cafe Rio Mexican Grill has generously agreed to offer a challenge grant of up to $3,000 to the winning school. All participating schools will be able to keep the money donated in their name, regardless of whether or not they win the challenge grant.
The event coincides with yet another special Cafe Rio competition to benefit Utah State University student clubs. The USU clubs event is a weeklong competition culminating in an evening fiesta on Sunday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m. The club that wins the competition will receive their choice of $1,000 in Cafe Rio catering or 100 free meal cards to distribute to its members.
The winner of the USU clubs competition will be determined by which club gets the most representation at Cafe Rio throughout the week. Beginning today and continuing until Saturday, December 10 at 9:00 p.m., anyone who makes a purchase at Cafe Rio can tell their cashier which club they represent when they pay. The cashiers will keep a running tally of which clubs are showing up. The club with the most representation wins the prize. Anyone can participate to help their favored club win, regardless of whether or not they attend USU.
These special events are held to recognize Cafe Rio's commitment to both education and the communities in which it operates.
